Can the Mind Become Toxic Like the Body

“Your mind is like a toilet that needs to be flushed frequently.”

—The G.O.P.

Okay, let’s get this straight from the get-go. I am not a PC kind of guy, nor is my blog. I shoot from the hip and tell it like it is using layman’s terms, not medical jargon to impress or confuse people. Just the facts ma’am! Many people follow various diet plans to detox the body but very few go on a mental detox. Not many are aware of just how toxic their mind is. I always suggest a “mind-flush” (as I call it) first before proceeding on to detox and nourish your body. You must get your mind aligned before you can expect results with your body and your life.

One day I told my doctor I thought I was going crazy because I had a carrot growing out of my ear. He examined me and asked how this could have happened. I said, “Doc, I don’t know how this happened because I planted radishes.” This is so true of our lives. We often get what we least expect. That can happen because your mind gets filled with toxic waste that creates events in your life that sprout into problems.

When the body gets toxic, acid waste gets concentrated in the lymph and interstitial fluids. When your mind gets toxic, mental waste gets concentrated in the memory system of your brain. What you think is what you get in life, and if you have toxic waste in your memory banks, trouble may soon show up in your life.

You, as a human, behave according to how your subconscious mind is programmed. Your subconscious mind got primarily programmed somewhere between the time you were born and the time you turned six. When you are a very young child, your mind is like a sponge to everything you are exposed to. And what you are exposed to, sinks deep into your subconscious mind, where it forms your belief systems for life. After six years of age, your mind can get programmed at times when you are hypnotized or in a semi-hypnotic state.

“I told my wife the truth. I told her I was seeing a psychiatrist. Then she told me the truth. She was seeing a psychiatrist, two plumbers, and a bartender.”

—Rodney Dangerfield

Watching a video, playing a video game, watching a movie or TV show, engaging in social media, or cruising the internet can prime your subconscious mind to be receptive to being programmed. And this can all happen without you even realizing you are being programmed. This is why TV commercials are so powerful and successful as a means of advertising. You are hypnotized by a TV show you are watching, then a commercial appears that tells you to buy a specific soft drink, laundry detergent, or toothpaste, and BINGO, they have you! You now believe the product advertised is of extreme value and you feel the need to buy it. Clever advertising techniques may be one of the key reasons you find yourself buying things you don’t really need and eating when you are not really hungry.

To safeguard your subconscious from being programmed, meditate for at least 15 minutes every day. When you meditate, it is like flushing your mental toilet. Also, to avoid getting your mind reprogrammed, limit the recreational time you view TV, the internet, and social media. When you choose movies or TV shows, avoid the violent ones and lean toward comedies, inspiring films, and uplifting documentaries.

Thank you for reading my blog. It is an honor to write these words for you.
